Super Edge Refrigeration Oil is a high-quality essentially wax-free oil for the lubrication of compressors used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The product series is recommended for use with ammonia, carbon dioxide, and halogenated refrigerants.

This is manufactured from naphthenic base oils selected to meet refrigeration compressor manufacturers’ requirements. The product series offers particularly good low-temperature properties and high stability, minimizing varnish and sludge formation over extended operating periods.

Capella WF is dehydrated and packaged to resist moisture.

Recommended Applications :

Refrigeration compressor oil recommended for use with ammonia, carbon dioxide, and chloroform- and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (CFCs & HCFCs — freon) as well as sulfur dioxide and ethylene chloride refrigerants.
Capella WF product series delivers very low freon floc and pour point performance and offers chemically stable performance in presence of ammonia and fluorinated hydrocarbons. For this, they make an excellent choice for ammonia systems with the minimum evaporator temperature as low as –50°C (provided evaporator hot flush capability), and fluorinated hydrocarbon refrigerants with minimum evaporator temperatures of –45°C (R12), –35°C (R22) and –25°C (R502) respectively.
For ammonia systems with minimum evaporator temperatures of –60°C, Capella A is recommended.
For systems containing hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants such as R134a, R404a, R507, etc., Capella HFC is recommended.

The viscosity grade for the application should be based on the equipment manufacturer’s recommendation.
Capella WF oils satisfy the requirements of hermetically sealed air conditioning compressors or the many types
of smaller units. Capella WF oils are registered by NSF and are acceptable as a lubricant where there is no possibility
of food contact (H2) in and around food processing areas. The NSF Nonfood Compounds Registration
The program is a continuation of the USDA product approval and listing program, which is based on meeting regulatory requirements of appropriate use, ingredient review, and labeling verification.

FEATURES:

Capella WF oils help provide maximum wear protection to the refrigeration compressor or system in which they are used. Capella WF oils are manufactured using especially refined naphthenic mineral oils. Carefully selected base stocks assure the exceedingly low pour points necessary for refrigeration compressor lubricants. They are highly refined and specially treated to help resist the sludging action of refrigerants in the presence of high temperatures and metal catalysts.

Capella WF oils deliver value through:

  • Wax-free — Suitable for ultra-low temperature service.
  • Water-free — Low moisture content helps prevent icing in refrigeration expansion valves and helps prevent system corrosion.
  • Low carbon residue — Helps minimize the tendency to form carbon deposits on the hot spots of the compressor unit.
  • Excellent compatibility in both Freon and ammonia systems — Suitable for use in many types of refrigeration systems.
  • Premium quality — Helps prevent lubricant caused equipment failures.
  • Thermal stability — For long service life.
  • Efficient, Trouble-free Operation- Extremely low pour point and freon floc point (below –50°C) enable fluidity without wax or deposit formation at very low minimum evaporator temperature, even with low solvency of the lubricating oil in the refrigerant. This further contributes to the evaporator efficiency and cleanliness of the flow lines. Low moisture content helps prevent icing in refrigeration expansion valves and delivers maximum corrosion protection.
  •  Minimum Downtime– Robust thermal and oxidation stability protect against in-service oil thickening and minimize the formation of harmful gum, varnish, and sludge in the system, helping to ensure extended drain intervals.
  • Lower Maintenance Costs– Reliable lubricity helps protect against vulnerable component wear, reducing maintenance downtime, and costs. The product is further compatible with a wide range of refrigerants, helping reduce inventories and potential misapplications.
